Eagle Academy Art Showcase @ The Red Chair Cafe

  • The Red Chair Cafe 337 E 4th Ave Anchorage, AK, 99501 United States (map)

Pablo Picasso Said "All Children art artists, the problem is how to remain an artist as they grow up." Come celebrate Art Education with us at this months Red Chair Art Showcase.

Eagle Academy Charter School is in Eagle River Alaska,  it educates students grades Kindergarten through 6th Grade. For this exciting art show 28 pieces are being displayed. Four pieces from each grade.  The artwork the students created are self portraits in their outdoor gear.  The beauty of this project is that you can see the way the students view themselves and how that perception clearly changes as they get older.  A Kindergarten has a very different awareness of self then a 6th grader.  The students had a very fun time creating this project.

Live at The Red Chair, Diane Hall and Sandra Calvillo!

6-8pm

Diane Hall and Sandra Calvillo started performing together just three short months ago, and are having a blast mingling their styles and playing gigs together.  Sandra has lived from Texas to Brazil, with a long stay in Nome, and has become a preeminent musician in Anchorage and all over the world, a true Universal Percussionist.  Diane first came to the AK with The Automatics to play at Chilkoot's and never looked back.  She has been lucky to be able to entertain at many different venues, from roadhouses to concert halls, and to get to see Alaska by traveling to play.
